2007 was a amazing year for Actual Reality with the premieres of
Facebook Diaries,
Greenovate and our hit Flip special,
Flip It Back. We spent much of the year jetting from Paris to Milan to New York and back again during the production of our feature documentary about
legendary Vogue Editor-In-Chief Anna Wintour. Our HBO documentary
Thin continued to garner accolades and was nominated for an Emmy Award.
30 Days wrapped production on its third season for FX. And
Flip That House was, yet again, the most-watched program on TLC. 2007 was Actual Reality's busiest year and so far 2008 looks to be an even bigger year for the company.
We kicked off 2008 with the announcement that our new series,
America's Top Dog, has been picked up by CBS to air this year. The Anna Wintour film is scheduled for release later this year. Season three of
30 Days premieres this spring on FX.
Flip That House (now in HD) continues production on its fourth season. Three special one-hour Flip spinoffs will be airing later this year on TLC, including
Flip That Restaurant (March 8th at 9PM E/P),
Flip That Loft and
Family Flip-Off.
Greenovate will help lead Discovery's launch of its new channel, Planet Green. Plus there are even more new programs coming out from ARP this year.
Overall, it's going to be a great year at Actual Reality Pictures.
CBS has announced that it will be airing our new show,
America's Top Dog. With an estimated 90-million dog owners in the United States,
America's Top Dog asks which dog-and-owner team is the best in the U.S. In this new CBS series, owners and their pets will live together and battle it out in a competition that puts the dog's relationship with the person who has raised and trained it to the test. In the end, one team of loving owner and faithful dog will emerge victorious.
We'll have more details soon, but for now here are links to the announcements in
Variety and the
Hollywood Reporter.
In 2008, Flip That House is going to be even bigger, with 40 new episodes shot entirely in high-definition 1080i in 40 new cities and 10 different states.
Season Four of Flip That House kicks off this Saturday at 9PM E/P on TLC and now TLC-HD. This Saturday's first episode at 9PM E/P features flipping veteran (over 50 flips) and quadriplegic, Chad Sloan, as he takes on the challenge of renovating a South Carolina 4-bedroom, 3-bath home. Saturday's second episode features D'John 'Bolo' Benefield as he tries to transform an Atlanta 'dump' into a salable home.
Now how big is
Flip That House? In addition to the fact that
Flip will be airing its 100th episode in May 2008, check out more fun facts about

While the eight months of shooting finished in 2007, most of 2008 will be spent in the editing room cutting the Vogue Documentary. Scheduled for release later this year, this feature-length documentary film follows Anna Wintour and the editors at Vogue as they prepare the September issue of Vogue magazine. Keep an eye on our website for the latest information on the Vogue Documentary.
For some of our productions scheduled to air in 2008, we don't have exact air dates from the networks yet, but stay tuned to our website and this newsletter. We'll announce dates and times here as soon as we have them.
